Educ 560

Throughout this semester, we were introduced to new websites that can be beneficial for any teacher. In a developing world  and all the invasion of different technologies, teachers should find new techniques that they can use in class. I never thought I would like working on activities online but I really enjoyed them all!

  • Drive: Teachers need a secured website to save important files in. Now, drive is connected to one's gmail where he/she saves all the files without the fear of them getting hacked or  erased. Also, teachers can use drive to share, comment, and view other teacher's work!

  •  Google forms: Teachers always nag about tests! They are overwhelmed with all the exams that they correct every month or so. Well, google form can solve this issue! It is a new way of assessment. Students finish their exams and they will be corrected immediately in no time considered. Not only does it correct test in no time, it also returns grades to students immediately after they finish.

  •  Reference on word: Successful teachers are always updated. They are always researching to find new techniques that they can use in their classes. However, everything you take from any source must be referenced. You give the writer his rights when you note that you take the information from his/her website. After being introduced to references on word, it is much easier to cite the authors and researchers.

  •  Webinar: It is usually impossible to attend all the seminars around the world. Also, you wouldn't want to miss the information presented in seminars around the world. What can you do? Well, you now can attend a seminar online! I solely loved this experience because you can gain knowledge at home while you are in your pjs. It is always fun to learn things when you are at home. You don't have to drive for hours  and get stuck in traffic just to attend a seminar just attend a webinar!

  •  Blogs: A new way to get a wider look into other teachers' classrooms! It is interesting to always share what you did/have done in your classroom on your page. Personally, I enjoyed reading what my classmates wrote in their pages!

  •  Activinspire: You need new technique that you can use in class? You need interesting ways to grab students attention at the beginning of your lesson? Try activinspire! Activinspire provides a wide range of activities and tools that you can use in class. Activities on this application are very interactive and motivating! I believe if you add Activinspire lessons to your techniques every now and then, students will be very motivated.

  •  Webquest: Webquests are very engaging as well! Students are expected to finish the tasks presented either in pairs or individually. If you want to assess students and get them more involved in their learning, try indulging Webquest into your classroom routine. But remember, if you repeat same techniques, they will be boring for students. Try using different techniques every time.

  •  Padlet: Teachers always want students to share their opinions. Padlet helps students express their thoughts and opinions freely. Teachers can use this application when they want to discuss a certain topic for example. This application can be also used as a classroom management technique! If students are all talking at once in class, they can waste the class time. However, if the teacher allows them to express what they have on padlet, she/he will save time. Also, they will get the opportunity to hear everyone's voice even those who are shy!

  •  Poll everywhere: If the teacher wants quick answers from students, she/he can use Poll everywhere! Poll everywhere is a good technique to get answers from students right away. I would use this application if I want to hear all the students' opinion about a certain topic.

  •  Rubistar: Rubrics are a part of every teacher's life. He/she wants clear directions to assess students accordingly. Rubistar is a time saving application that can divide the grades for the activities that you have. It is amazing how much time it saves! It also helps students know how are they being assessed.
